Self Rescue Course

Have you ever wondered "What if?" while climbing and then wished you hadn't asked the question? Do you know how to escape a belay? Rescue an injured leader? Do a tandem rappel? Haul your partner above a crux section he can't do? If you rock climb outdoors on a regular basis, you definitely should!! It's astonishing how many climbers don't know these vital safety techniques.

If you aren't familiar with lowering and hauling systems, passing knots, and specialized rappelling techniques, this rock self rescue course could be the most important training you ever receive. MMG's two-day self rescue course fills these gaps in your climbing skills, and is applicable to all types of roped climbing. On our two-day course you will practice the skills needed to rescue an injured leader or follower and bring them above a crux, to the top of the cliff, or to the ground.

MMG’s two-day sport and/or traditional lead climbing course teaches the fundamental techniques needed to become a competent rock climbing leader on single and multi pitch rock routes. The focus is on appropriate and efficient gear placements, bombproof anchor construction, direct anchor belay techniques, and stance and rope management strategies. You will practice and learn the ins and outs of gear placements while leading and continue on to efficient and solid anchor construction on the cliff. Over a series of rock leads you will gain more confidence and efficiency as you step into an exciting new world.

The MMG goal is for you to be able to put it all together when you are out rock climbing on the sharp end of the rope. The only experience required is you do have to know how to climb and belay.
