RJ climbing with Brian, Paige and Peter in January 2009
With two weeks of cold temperatures all of the ice was fat! Brian was in NH for two days of ice instruction. Day one was spend at Frankenstein where we climbed two variations of Standard route. Day two was spent at Kinsman Notch on steeper terrain perfecting our technique. The following weekend Paige and Peter came up for a 3 day mountaineering course. Day one had us learning ice technique at Kinsman Notch. Day two found us hiking into Huntington's Ravine where we left our tents at the Harvard Cabin, then set of into the ravine to climb Central Gully toping out on the alpine garden to the full moon. We settled into our tents that night to wake up to seven inches of new snow. Avalanche danger kept us from climbing in the ravines that day, so we broke camp and hiked out to climb Willey's Slide in Crawford Notch.
