Introductory Ice Climbing Course
Our introductory course in waterfall ice climbing is for winter ethusiasts with no previous experience
with ice climbing. The emphasis of this one or two day ice climbing course is for you to learn and
practice ice climbing movement techniques. In addition you will be taught a variety of technical skills
needed to ascend a wide array of ice climbs. Crampon and ice tool techniques, ice protection, belaying,
and rope management are fundamental technical skills introduced. You will also be introduced to
effective clothing systems, footwear, food and drinks which are necessary to maintain warmth in the
New Hampshire winter. Expect a full day of hands on practice of movement and technical skills which will
allow you to safely ascend and descend multiple waterfall ice climbs.

Family and Group Ice Climbing Lessons
At Mooney Mountain Guides we realize the value of a day ice climbing in the mountains with your family or close friends.
We have designed a day of introductory ice climbing for you and your family or friends to enjoy at Kinsman Notch
or Rumney Rocks. There are a number of ice climbs which creates the perfect atmosphere to be introduced, practice,
and enjoy the great winter activity of ice climbing. Whether you and your group are all beginner ice climbers or
varied experience levels we will supply lots of fun and challenge for everyone.

Intermediate Ice Climbing Course
Our intermediate ice climbing course is for those with previous experience who are looking to challenge
themselves on the vertical ice climbing world of NH or Vermont. Whether you have been ice climbing for one day or many
years our intermediate ice climbing course is a great way to enhance and refine on your current ice climbing skills.
Your instructor will focus on teaching efficient ice climbing movements and advanced techniques with
the use of crampons and ice tools. You will learn how to place and remove ice screws, how to construct ice
anchors and establish descending v-threads. Our intermediate ice climbing course will prepare you for advanced
ice climbs such as Cannon Mountain's Black Dike or Lake Willoughby's Twenty Below Zero Gully.

Advanced Guided Ice Climbs
Are you climbing the same ice climbs over and over again? Are you finding yourself unchallenged and un-stimulated?
Do you feel that you're ready to step up your ice climbing game but just haven't had the right partner
or motivation to push you to that next level? Our advanced guided ice climbs allow you to choose one of
the classic routes on Cannon Cliff, Lake Willoughby, or Cathedral Ledge. As with any undertaking of this
size you will be exposed to the prior planning for route selection, equipment preparation and
packing for these advanced ice and mixed climbs. An objective of this size may require the 'alpine' start
at 6 am predawn to avoid traveling below other climbing parties giving us the maximum chance of success
and safety. Give us a call to schedule your climb of Cannon's Black Dike, Lake Willoughby's Last Gentlemen,
Cathedrals Repentance or we can assist in fulfilling your own ice adventure.
