Red Rock Trip Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Travel day, on your way to Las Vegas, with arrival in early afternoon. Our guide will meet you at the airport or at the campground. Set up a camping spot and enjoy an evening dinner in the desert.
Day 2: Climb multi pitch routes in First Creek or Oak Creek. The routes are three or four pitches of moderate climbing. This day will help you get used to the areas soft sandstone rock, intense sun and dry air.
Day 3: The Black Velvet Canyon has numerous longer routes such as Dream of Wild Turkeys, Prince of Darkness and Frogland. We will climb one of these classic multi pitch rock climbs and enjoy views of Las Vegas in the distance.
Day 4: Crack climbing clinic at one of the single pitch rock crags. This goal of the day is to improve crack climbing and work on developing efficient climbing techniques.
Day 5: Spend the day on Cloud Tower climbing Crimson Chrysalis. This is a ten pitch intermediate crack and face line with awesome exposure and great belay stations.
Day 6: Climb the formation known as the Mescalito. Dark Shadows is a striking line on some of the best varnished sandstone in the area. Beautiful 5.8 cracks and corners will provide access to top of this awesome rock formation.
